After using up the glue, turn barrel to expose the white base cap of the glue stick remnant.

Take it off the white base cap.

Pull the cap of glue refill from it holder.

Simply push on the new glue stick.

Turn barrel anti-clockwise.

Turn barrel anti-clockwise to retract.
The hold will be taken off easily.
